Segal was born in Jerusalem in 1969.
Graduated from the Rubin Music Academy in Jerusalem. He plays with the leading Israeli ethnic band: “Habrera Hativit”, and with the international artist Hava Alberstein.
Yankele Segal plays on several string instruments like the oud, the tar, jumbos, bass, guitars.
He researches Middle Eastern musical traditions which he incorporates into his music.
